This unique brush is made by finely splitting the tip of a bamboo shaft, offering a writing experience unlike conventional brushes. Although the officially stated bristle length is 6.5 cm, as seen in the fourth photo, the usable length appears to be slightly less than 6 cm. (The brush on the left in the comparison photo is the medium size.) This is a glue-set bamboo brush, so some preparation is required before first use. Soak the tip gently in hot water (about 50–60°C) and lightly massage it to dissolve the glue. Please avoid rough handling, as bamboo brushes are considered consumables like small calligraphy brushes. If you prefer a softer texture, slightly raising the water temperature will help — the hotter the water, the softer the brush becomes. With its distinct split-tip construction, this brush allows for expressive variation depending on how you use the tip and belly. We encourage you to give it a try and explore its unique potential!

This unique bamboo brush is made by finely splitting the tip of the bamboo shaft, offering a distinct texture and writing feel. The officially listed bristle length is 8 cm, but this includes the portion up to the node (joint), so the actual usable length is slightly shorter. (For size comparison, the brush on the right in the third photo is the small version.) This is a glue-set bamboo brush, and some preparation is required before first use: Soak the tip in hot water (about 50–60°C) and gently rub it to remove the glue. Please handle it gently, as bamboo brushes are consumables similar to small calligraphy brushes. If you prefer a softer feel, you can slightly increase the water temperature — the hotter the water, the softer the bristles become. You can create varied, expressive strokes by using both the tip and the body of the brush. We highly recommend trying this bamboo brush to explore a different dimension of calligraphy expression.

This large bamboo brush is crafted by finely splitting the tip of a thick bamboo shaft, delivering a bold and textured writing experience. The official bristle length is listed as 10 cm, but this includes the portion up to the bamboo node. The actual usable length is somewhat shorter. (For reference, the brush is the second from the left in the second photo.) Like other sizes, this is a glue-set bamboo brush and requires a bit of preparation before first use: Soak the tip in hot water (around 50–60°C) and gently rub it to remove the glue. Please handle it carefully — bamboo brushes are consumables, much like small calligraphy brushes. If a softer feel is desired, slightly increasing the water temperature will help soften the bristles. By using both the tip and the belly of the brush, you can explore a range of expressive styles. We highly recommend giving this bamboo brush a try if you’re looking to expand your calligraphy tools with something bold and unique.
