Description:
This 2-chō size ink stick is a professional-grade product made by Kuretake in Nara, designed specifically for creating expressive calligraphy and ink artwork.
By blending carbon particles of various sizes using modern scientific techniques, this ink faithfully recreates the elegant tones of antique koboku (aged ink).
It produces beautifully nuanced strokes where the crisp outlines (kisen) stand out clearly against delicate feathering (nijimi), creating a harmonious balance between dry lines and subtle shading.
The ink's aged-like black tone is both refined and expressive.
Also suitable for mixing with blue-black ink (aoboku) for deeper tonal variation.
