イタチの毛不足が叫ばれる中、生み出された
silver foxの毛を使った筆『白狐』。
イタチの書き味に近づけるべく作られた筆で、同じ大きさのイタチ筆よりお値打ちかと思われます。
実は筆軸である竹も、今業者さんが激減して少なくなっていて、そんな中、木軸で独特の色軸を作ったんだそうです。
竹軸に比べるとほんのほんの若干重いですが、それも楽しんでいただける範囲かと思います。
小の穂長は36㎜になります。

Developed in response to the ongoing shortage of weasel hair, Byakko is a calligraphy brush made using silver fox hair, crafted to closely replicate the writing feel of traditional weasel brushes—but at a more accessible price.
This small-sized version features a bristle length of 36 mm, making it ideal for fine characters, kana, and detailed work.
While most traditional brushes use bamboo handles, the number of skilled bamboo suppliers has declined. In this case, the brush is fitted with a wooden shaft, custom-colored to create a distinctive, modern finish.
It is just slightly heavier than bamboo, but still well-balanced and comfortable to use.
