猫毛は柔らかく粘りがあり墨含みに優れた毛質で、主として仮名・実用書として使用され「玉毛（たまげ）」と呼ばれます。
軸径8.5㎜／穂長34㎜と玉毛にしては大ぶりの筆です。

This premium mid-sized calligraphy brush is made from cat hair, traditionally referred to as “tamage” (珠毫) in Japanese. Tamage is prized for its softness, elasticity, and excellent ink absorption, making it ideal for kana calligraphy and everyday writing styles.
With a shaft diameter of 8.5 mm and a bristle length of 34 mm, this brush is larger than typical tamage brushes, offering a generous tip for expressive strokes while maintaining the supple control unique to cat hair.
After a period of discontinued availability, this brush has now been newly reproduced and reintroduced, preserving its traditional quality while offering a fresh production.
