This paperweight is crafted from solid cast iron in Takaoka, Toyama—an area known for its metalwork tradition dating back to the 17th century.
The horse (午 / Uma) symbolizes forward movement, strength, and steady progress, and is also associated with good fortune in the Japanese Zodiac.

At the horse’s feet are piled “Ōban and Koban” gold coins, historically symbols of wealth and prosperity in Japan.
