Crafted by Kinkoen, a renowned ink artisan in Nara devoted to the promotion and preservation of traditional sumi ink, this ink stick is a refined and thoughtfully designed piece.

In addition to its primary use for calligraphy, this ink is meant to be enjoyed for its sculptural beauty and gentle fragrance.
As you grind it on an inkstone, a subtle lavender aroma is released, enhancing the meditative aspect of your calligraphy practice.

This is a limited-production item, newly reproduced after about 15 years by Kinkoen, in very small quantities.
